How You Treat Others Reflects Who You Are

Even when your personal life is in turmoil, and deadlines at work are stressing you out beyond belief... The way you behave matters. It impacts how you are perceived and, therefore, valued.

If you want to be seen as a high-value individual, try implementing these 12 behaviours:

  1. Be kind to people with whom you have nothing to gain. Treat everyone with dignity.
  2. Compliment someone’s hard work or skills in front of others. Public praise is powerful.
  3. Ask the name of the cashier or server, and use it. A little recognition creates warmth.
  4. Offer your seat to someone elderly or struggling on public transport—simple, direct kindness.
  5. Hold off on sending non-urgent emails after work hours—respect personal time.
  6. Be honest about what you don’t know. Admitting your limitations builds credibility.
  7. Share a good book with someone you know who would appreciate it, and it shows thoughtfulness.
  8. Send a quick message to a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while, to check in.
  9. Lead by example in all areas, especially the small things. Consistency earns respect.
  10. Maintain your privacy and respect others’. Don’t overshare or pry into matters that aren’t yours.
  11. Defend those who aren’t in the room. Speak up for others when it’s right.
  12. Give your full attention in meetings, close your laptop and make eye contact.

I fundamentally believe that: If you become a good person, good things happen to you.

Give consistently without expectation. It's a better way to live life!
